UPDATE - November 18 Staff Redeployment
Hello again, CRS School Community.
I just wanted to provide a brief update about the upcoming changes that I wrote about in my last blog post. Based on some conversations that I have had with parents after the last blog was published, I appreciate the understanding and support of our school community regarding these adjustments, which we expect to improve learning outcomes and classroom experiences for students in Gr. 3.
If you did not see that post, you can read it HERE but the TLDR version is that we are creating a third Gr. 3 classroom to reduce Gr. 3 class sizes for Language Arts and Mathematics and that this requires some relatively minor changes in teaching assignments for our staff, which will take effect on November 18, following the Fall Break. (Please see the attached document for a breakdown of teaching changes for each homeroom: November 18 Teacher Changes.)
During the Staff Collaboration Day on November 1, we determined that the best way to construct the student rosters for part-time literacy and numeracy classes was to consider students who have exhibited adaptability and resilience for the additional class. The new L.A. and Math class will be called 3PO because Mr. Pederson and Mrs. Olson will be the teachers. This class will have 16 students, meaning there will also be smaller classes of 20-22 students for both 3H and 3P in L.A. and Math.
Parents of the students who will make up the new 3PO classroom will receive an email from their child's classroom teacher tomorrow, November 8.
Enjoy the Fall Break!
